Register Today: High School Transition Support Program
- Our Winter SoAR Mindful Transitions group program is starting in February – Be sure to secure your child's spot before it's too late!The program is designed for students in grades 7 and 8 with a diagnosis of a learning disability and/or ADHD.In the program, students will gain a deeper understanding of their learning disability and/or ADHD diagnosis, identify their learning style, and develop key skills such as self-advocacy, executive functioning, and stress management. They will also receive support in preparing for school assessments (i.e. exams and tests) and building confidence to ease their transition to high school.The program consists of 4, 45 to 60-minute sessions. Students will receive a workbook that they will take home at the last session.
In the program, students will have the opportunity to:
- Understand LDs/ADHD and identify learning styles.
- Develop self-advocacy strategies for success (i.e. review (I.E.P.) Individual Education Plan).
- Build executive function skills (i.e. organization, time management, etc.)
- Prepare for school assessments including tests, exams, and assignments.
- Cultivate skills for managing stress.
- Build confidence to facilitate an easier transition to high school.
