Social skills and SoAR Facilitators are an ongoing opportunity for a casual on call contract. If you are looking for a career working with children with learning disabilities and are able to travel acroos York or Simcoe locations please apply!

 

Program Coordinator -SoAR Program -Part Time with potential for fulltime.

We are looking for a competent professional to undertake a variety of administrative and program management tasks. You will help in planning and organizing educational programs and activities as well as carry out important operational duties. To be an excellent program coordinator, you must be organized and detail-oriented, comfortable working with diverse teams. If you have further skills in program development and community outreach, we’d like to meet you.

Position Overview

We are looking for a competent professional to undertake a variety of administrative and program management tasks. You will help in planning and organizing educational programs and activities as well as carry out important operational duties. To be an excellent program coordinator, you must be organized and detail-oriented, comfortable working with diverse teams. If you have further skills in program development and community outreach, we’d like to meet you.

Key Responsibilities

· Responsible for the development, implementation of the SoAR children and youth program.

· Schedule programs dates, oversee daily operations, coordinate the activities of the program and set priorities to manage the programs

· Management of Tutor data base including hiring and matching.

· Supervises reaching program targets and service expectations, regularly monitors programs evaluations and provides statistical analysis and reports on programs, services, and regular operational activities.

· Case management and maintains documentation of client’s files/database, records of service and participant progress reports on internal database

· Creates a recruitment plan for the tutor volunteers and general volunteers of LDAYS and increases program enrollment

· Act as liaison with community partners within York Region

· Mentoring student placements throughout the school year

· Assist with program planning and execution of all social skills programs and initiatives, including program events and camps

· Supports with development of the resources and training

· Assists with survey development and gathering program feedback

· Supports student recruitment initiatives for social skills programs including outreach communication, coordination and delivering presentations for the programs

· Creates tracking for attendance and reconciles with registration

· Corresponds with parents and families on program details

· Seeking new opportunities for and managing the organizations community outreach activities

· Prepare an implementation action plan aimed at increasing the level of public awareness of the programs

· Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

· Post-secondary education is required, on Education, SSW, Recreation, or relevant field of study

· Experience working with exceptional children and families

· Proven working experience in planning or coordinating programs in a non-for-profit setting 2-years minimum

· Experience and understanding of working effectively in a diverse environment

· Sound judgement and decision-making skills with the ability to effectively administer/reinforce policies as appropriate

· Prior experience with technologies used for Learning and Outreach including, but not limited to,

digital audio/video editing, web-based applications, Zoom, Skype, etc.

· Access to vehicle with a insurance liability of $1,000,000.000

· Criminal record and vulnerable sector check
