Learning Disabilities Association of York-Simcoe's SUMMER CAMP is designed for Children with a Primary Diagnosis of Learning Disabilities and/or ADHD

This program focuses on the social development skills of children 8-12 years of age. Our social coaches will work with students in a variety of social skills on a fun and interactive format. Skills learned include introducing oneself, ways to make friends, responding to teasing, being a good winner and loser, dealing with emotions, problem-solving, relaxation, and self-esteem.

This program is facilitated by registered social service workers. Our program content is based on the PEERS® curriculum for social skills training.

From different weekly themes such as magic, STEM, the zoo, and many more, each week will feature a new theme packed with exciting activities to explore!

Activities include nature walks, arts and crafts, sports, and even outdoor swimming, ensuring each day is full of fun and personal growth.

  • Richmond Hill - July 7-11 at Father Henri J.M. Nouwen CES
  • Aurora - July 21st to 25th at Whispering Pines Public School 
  • Newmarket - July 28 - August 1
  • Bradford - August 11-15
    • Time: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

Fees:

  • Early Bird Member Fee: $320
  • Early Bird NON-Member Fee: $370
  • Member Fee: $350
  • NON-member Fee: $400

**This registration form is to secure your child's spot, all payments will be processed at a later date.

**Maximum 12 children per session, with a caring staff to child ration of 1:6.

**First time participants must provide a copy of child’s Psycho-educational Assessment

**We offer sibling and multi-week discounts- Eligible after the early bird fee ends.

**Before and after care available for a fee

Participants are placed in groups depending on the number of registrants, their age, and gender so early registration is strongly recommended.

Summer Reading Rocks

Summer RR Site
Ensure your child's reading progress continues over the summer with Summer Reading Rocks!
Running from July to August, this program offers personalized one-hour sessions twice a week for 8 weeks.
Reading Rocks is an individualized virtual reading intervention program designed by Brock University's Dr. John McNamara, who specializes in Learning Disabilities. This program is designed for students who are performing a minimum of one year behind in the area of literacy due to a diagnosed or suspected reading disability.
In addition to foundational literacy skills, Reading Rocks is an intervention approach that uses motivational tactics to engage children in the reading process. These tactics are designed to actively engage children in their own learning. The motivation tactics are engaged through the use of instructional workstations that tutors design and tailor to each child's needs.
The Reading Rocks approach is designed to be delivered in a series of 1-hour instructional sessions.
Space is limited and spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
