Skills Builders Adventure Club
A 6-week program focused on social skills development for children with LD and/or ADHD.
Our social coaches guide students through fun, interactive activities to develop key social skills. The program is based on the evidence-based PEERS® curriculum for social skills training.
First-time participants must provide a copy of their child’s Psycho-educational Assessment.
Program Information
What social and emotional skills will be learned?
- Interpersonal skills: communication, listening, friendship building
- Emotional regulation: managing feelings, coping with stress
- Conflict resolution and problem solving
- Self-advocacy
- Building self-esteem
- Bullying and cyberbullying awareness
Who is the program designed for?
Children ages 8–12 with a primary diagnosis of Learning Disability (LD) and/or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) who may:
- Avoid social contact
- Behave immaturely
- Be shy or timid in groups
- Frequently fight with peers
- Display a lack of self-esteem and self-confidence
- Enjoy meeting other children with LD and/or ADHD
About the Course:
- 6-week program (1 hour per week)
- Small groups: Up to 8 children, divided by age
- Led by accredited group leaders
- Offered in Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter
Registration & Fees
- Subsidies and payment plans available for qualified families
- Families with insurance can request information from their provider for coverage under social work services.
- Full payment due at registration
- No make-up days available
- Program placement depends on age, gender, and group size
